Finance Training
Important information for club leaders regarding finances, reimbursements, and funding requests
Finance training is essential for club leaders who manage budgets and handle financial transactions. This page will guide you through reimbursement processes and funding requests. For complete financial policies, please refer to the Club Handbook.
Reimbursement Forms
What is a Reimbursement?
A reimbursement is when you personally pay for something with the intention of being paid back by your club. A reimbursement is DIFFERENT from a purchase order request because a purchase order request is when you request money from your club before you've spent it, whereas a reimbursement is when you've already paid the money out of pocket, and just want your club to pay you back.
What You'll Need
Receipt
You must provide a physical receipt that shows an itemized list of what you purchased. Credit card statements do NOT count.
Business Information
The itemized receipt must have the business name, address, and date of transaction.
Contact: If you have any questions about reimbursement, email the ASSP Officer of Finance at ASSP-Finance@spu.edu
How to Find an Accurate Reimbursement Amount
Washington state requires sales tax on non-essential items. Such that whenever a purchase is made, there is likely an additional tax added to the cost of the item. When requesting for reimbursement, please ensure that the amount includes the sales tax from the expense.

Most if not all receipts will have the sales tax amount described after the sub-total. If one is not provided, Seattle sales tax is 10.5% and can be used to provide an accurate estimate.

Scanned receipts are required in order to complete the following reimbursement form.
